Hands On: Verizon Droid RAZR by Motorola
18.05.12
The Droid RAZR is the first Android based phone in quite awhile that elicited oohs and aahs from my coworkers. Besides the extra large 4.3 inch Gorilla Glass screen, the first thing you notice is just how light this phone is. A common exclamation was ‘So how heavy is it when you attach the battery?’ The answer to that question is ‘Exactly the Same!’ as the battery is sealed inside the very attractive black candy bar form factor case. While some may balk at the lightness of the phone, I looked at the weight of the phone as a refreshing change, especially after my concerns over phone weight when reviewing the Droid Bionic . The other thing that you notice right out of the box is how thin this phone is. At only 7.1mm thick, the Droid RAZR is the thinnest smart phone ever. Combined the thinness, the weight, the beveled edges of the screen and the quilted feel of the Kevlar back make for a very comfortable tactile feel, although those with smaller hands may find it difficult to operate the Droid RAZR one handed due to the screen size.
