New ad campaign lights way for Energizer
Energizer Holdings' longtime slogan "keep going and going..." is going.
After seven years, the global consumer products company is replacing the "keep going" campaign, saying the tagline no longer speaks for its household products division. Once simply defined by alkaline batteries, the division's entire portfolio now includes everything from headlamps to lithium batteries to charging stations for cell phones.
The new message? "Now that's positivenergy." The move reflects Energizer's efforts to focus attention and resources on its new charging and lighting products as disposable battery sales slump.
However, fans of Energizer's sunglasses-wearing bunny beating a drum need not worry. The pink icon that was first introduced in 1989 still will be featured prominently in the company's ads.
"The Energizer bunny is core to the new platform," said Betsy Laakko, Energizer's director of global brand development.
The "positivenergy" campaign that launched in October also marks a marketing first for the Town and Country-based company.
