How does it work?
It's rather simple. The Moshi Moshi handset comes with a base which is directly connected to your smartphone. There's a button on the middle of the handle which you need to press to receive or end calls. Once you plug it in to your phone, depending on which model phone you're using, a prompt will automatically appear on your screen telling you that you've been connected. Also depending on your phone (it works by default for the iPhone), you can also use the button on the handle to call the last number dialled.
The Moshi Moshi handset also supports "voice-activated dialling" with certain models of mobile phones. All you have to do is set up voice tags on your smartphone. To make a voice-activated call, hold down the answer button on the handle until you hear a "bip" and say the name of the person you want to call.
Where is it available and for how much?
The Moshi Moshi retro handset is now available at all Virgin Megastore outlets in the UAE for Dh279. There are also two more varieties: one without the base (Dh179) and a Bluetooth wireless version (Dh499). Call 04 341 4353 for more details.
