Sports group bowled over by fundraising success

Western NSW Regional Director, Carole McDiarmid, said the region’s Schools Sports Association and students have every reason to be tickled pink about a donation they have earned for the McGrath Foundation.
A giant cheque for $35,000, representing the proceeds of a year of fundraising by the Sports Association, went on display at a meeting of 40 sports co-ordinators from all parts of the Western NSW Region in Dubbo last week.
Glenn McGrath is an honoured graduate of Narromine High School and Narromine Public School and Western NSW Region is proud of its links with the high achiever and outstanding role model.
“No doubt Glenn has inspired many up-and-coming young sports people for Western NSW public schools,” Mrs McDiarmid said.
“But as much as he has achieved on the cricket fields of the world, we also admire the way he has taken our Western NSW public schools’ value of doing something for others forward into his exemplary work for the McGrath Foundation.
