Droid RAZR Droid Does Page Official; Unlocked Bootloader Not so Much [Verizon ...

The phone will be available in various markets, including the U.S. where it is going to hit Verizon, exclusively. The phone will arrive at some point in November and it will cost $299.99 with a new two-year contract, a price characteristic for new 4G LTE Android flagship handsets.
In fact the handset is now featured on Verizon’s “Droid Does” website where you’ll find the main specs and features of the handset that’s getting ready for launch, but you’ll also be able to sign-up for more information about the actual release of the device.
The Droid RAZR will face some tough competition this year, especially on Verizon, as the mobile operator will have three other interesting handsets in stores this holiday season: the iPhone 4S (already selling), the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the HTC Rezound (previously known as Vigor).
In case you’re making pros and cons lists for each device, you need to know that Motorola will finally let users play with an unlocked bootloader on the RAZR, which is definitely a pro. But that quickly changes into a con for Verizon customers. It appears that while Motorola has no problem offering a bootloader unlock, the Android maker is also going to let carriers decide whether their subscribers can use the feature or not. And it looks like Verizon has already chosen not to support bootloader unlocking.
